We are nearly half way through the year's program of events and our workshops have been very well received. This month we showcased the work of artist Natalie Castree who is also the artist behind the wonderful exhibition of student work "Carving Our Own Way" in the form of lino prints.

The students from Port Augusta West Primary School focused on design this year and the theme of circles. Congratulations to everyone who participated and especially Nat and Sharron for the work they put into making this happen.

"EMBROIDERY" with  Raelene Clark proved to be a very successful workshop and it seems there is an interest in traditional crafts.

WRITERS͛ THEME - Time. Perspective. Poetry or prose

This month we had another great opportunity to develop skills with Jan Pana.
The "CREATING GREAT DESIGN " workshop saw people developing their own designs for a range of art forms including felting, embroidery, beading and printed fabric.

March and April at THE PLATFORM

A great range of exhibitions and workshops so far in 2017.

Jenny's exhibition in March was very successful with over 200 people through the gallery during that month.

Tammy held a workshop where participants investigated the different properties of Polymer Clay and the Photography group welcomed beginning photographers to their meeting.

In April we featured the work of Jan Pana and Jan also held a drawing workshop.

The photography group happened to be at the gallery and enjoyed taking some snaps of the artists at work.

Off to a great start in 2017

Well we are off and running as we head into 2017.

With a City Council grant we have ordered new brochures which will highlight all the activities we have planned for the year.

First exhibition is "Omnium Gatherum" - a collection of all things by Ineke van den Hout.  Ineke will also hold a workshop on 12n February.

The Yearly Program is looking good and we advise people to register  early to secure a place in workshops.

Christmas 2016

We are well and truly established at THE PLATFORM and this year the gallery looks beautiful, thanks to our amazing "styling team".

The centrepiece made by Prue is making another appearance and the other decorations courtesy of Kerry and her thrifty nature have been stashed away in the store room waiting for the opportunity to shine.

The decorative theme also extended into the second room where we held our Christmas lunch on December 3rd which was catered for by The Test Kitchen.

It was lovely to have the opportunity to socialise and get to know our members better.

As we head towards the end of the year we would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and hope everyone is looking forward to our program of events in 2017.

Music Club

One of the great things about having a range of groups associated with Curdnatta is the possibility of being entertained while you view the art works.
The music club is currently practicing on most Saturday mornings and working towards their big night in November.
